“Jer” of All Trades
“What’s better than taking ordinary materials, combining them, and making something extraordinary?”
Jeremiah is one of two fraternal twins, so naturally his childhood was a bit different than that of most people. Even as a kid, he had to work hard for most everything as there was always a sense of intense competition between him and his twin. This created two things; a competitive persistence and a trailblazer mindset, which both set the groundwork for his approach to life.
With large influence from his grandfather and other tradesmen in the family, Jeremiah knew he wanted to do something in the construction industry. At Illinois State, Jeremiah decided to switch courses from Civil Engineering focus to Construction Management because of his preference for the hands-on nature of the construction management program. He immediately knew he made the right choice when his first class was an onsite build with Habitat for Humanity.
Jeremiah's instinctive need to challenge the status quo and effect change provides our team a constant catalyst for development. This coupled with his open-minded approach and a passion to collaborate allows him to operate within any area of the business and emerge having made that area, and himself, better for it. His unwavering growth mindset makes him a natural fit for BrightLeaf.
Jeremiah’s passions are very easy to recognize outside of work. He is always surrounded by his friends or family, including his wife and daughter. Aside from family time, you will most likely find him working on a home project, building furniture, or handcrafting his own beer. He currently is increasing his brew IQ by enrolling in courses all about brewing craft beer.
