Unanimously voted funniest of the BrightLeaf gang. Always looking for the next challenge.
“Just work hard and always strive to make a difference.”
Rick has always been industrious. Ever since he was a little kid he wanted to have a job and make his own money, whether it was raking leaves for his grandmother or selling mixed CD’s in middle school – he was always looking to create opportunities where there were none.
In college at Illinois State Rick studied political science and English with intentions of becoming a lawyer. But during his senior year Rick came to the realization that he couldn’t imagine sitting around and studying for another four years and started looking around for other career path options. Around that time his brother, Alex, pitched him a proposition to start their own construction company. Rick had always been fascinated with marketing, entrepreneurship, and doing his own thing and was easily persuaded.
While Rick cultivated the clients and brainstormed the initiatives to push the company forward, Alex was hard at work managing the projects and making sure they ran smoothly – not unlike each of their current roles at BrightLeaf.
At BrightLeaf Homes Rick brings a lot of passion and energy into the office. He’s a licensed real estate broker and handles the land search and market analytics, the acquisition and sale of properties, and matches the right home to the right people. Because according to him building people’s dreams is “an art and a science.”
The Rick outside the office is social – he enjoys being around people, especially his two favorite individuals in the world: his wife and daughter. He’s a big music enthusiast and one of the first albums he ever owned was Parliament’s Live P-Funk Earth Tour. Rick loves sunshine, his bulldog Donut, and learning new things. He’s a fanatical reader, a certified personal trainer, and it’s a rare thing to see him sitting around for too long.
